Who I am

Hi! I'm Chinmay Prakash.

I am a Machine Learning Engineer at Genpact, and I specialize in LLM post-training, evaluation, and large-scale deployment.

My work focuses on reward modeling, RLHF/DPO/GRPO, scalable synthetic data generation, and production deployment of SLMs evaluated with human-aligned metrics. I have filed 3 patents and published peer-reviewed research in AI.

Background

I hold a dual degree in Mathematics and Electronics from BITS Pilani, Goa Campus.

What I'm building toward

My current trajectory is pointed at inference optimization and post-training systems. I want to work on the problems that sit between a trained model and a deployed product: making alignment techniques scale, making inference fast without sacrificing quality, and understanding GPU architecture well enough to know where the real bottlenecks are.

I write about this regularly on Gradient Update, where I publish long-form technical pieces on GPU architecture, inference optimization, and post-training methods.

Beyond the terminal

I've drawn and painted for most of my life. It's a different kind of problem-solving: less structured, more intuitive, and it keeps a part of my brain active that engineering alone doesn't reach.
